The Kindle and Kindle DX are a cheaper, faster way to get books. I almost always order my books from Amazon & hate waiting for them to come in the mail. First of all, with a Kindle not only are they cheaper they are downloaded wirelessly to the Kindle within a minute. Second, I know that the Kindle DX is available in a version without the Global Wireless (the U.S. Wireless version) which makes it cheaper, however you can only buy it used. And finally, I have compared it in my head to the iPad & if you think the only reason you would use a iPad was for reading this is a lot cheaper (I do understand that is a BIG if though).
PRICES:
$259 for the Kindle; $489 for the Kindle DX
THINGS I LOVE:
3,500 books in one small place
I looked up 20 books I was interested in reading and the majority of them were between $7.99-$9.99. The highest being $12.99 which was released earlier this month & still 50% off the price I paid at Barnes & Noble a week ago.
Its a large screen & from what I have heard just like reading something off paper
It's green -- the less books printed on paper the more trees we can enjoy
The Kindle DX to me is rather aesthetically pleasing
THINGS I WASN'T CRAZY ABOUT:
There were a few books I looked for that they didn't have for the Kindle
From what I am lead to believe its a black and white screen so if you are looking at a book on art or fashion or something that involves colored photographs they pictures will be in black and white
OVERALL RATING:
8 out of 10
i WOULD buy one (& plan to soon)
I really enjoy the idea of it & hope to try to test one out to see if it lives up to my expectations
NEXT WEEK: Lush's Buffy Body Butter, Zoey Dean's The A-List Series, & the Motorola Droid
